Route 1) Kuala Tahan-Gunung Tahan-Kuala Tahan
  • Day 01 - Kuala Tahan to Sungai Melantai
  • Day 02 - Sungai Melantai to Kuala Puteh
  • Day 03 - Kuala Puteh to Kuala Teku
  • Day 04 - Kuala Teku to Wrays Camp ( or Skeat's Ridge)
  • Day 05 - Wrays Camp to Padang Camp
  • Day 06 - Padang Camp to Gunung Tahan Summit  and descent to Kuala Teku
  • Day 07 - Kuala Teku to Kuala Puteh
  • Day 08 - Kuala Puteh to Kuala Tahan

2) Sungai Relau-Gunung Tahan-Sungai Relau

  • Day 01 - Sungai Relau-Kuala Juram-Kem Khor
  • Day 02 - Kem Khor -Permatang -Belumut-Kem Bonsai
  • Day 03 - Kem Bonsai -Gunung Tahan -Belumut
  • Day 04 - Kem Belumut- Permatang- Kem Khor- Kuala Juram- Sungai Relau
Best Time February or March
Conditions Lower altitudes: rainforest and rivers. Higher altitudes: mountain ridges and gullies. Cold at night on the peak.
Fitness Best for experienced trekkers
Equipment Light clothing for day; warm clothes for mountain nights (no shelter). Trekking boots and raincape. Camping and cooking gear, food and water. Torch and batteries. Leech socks and insect repellent. Binoculars and camera.
Regulations Guides are compulsory. 12 people or more require two guides. Trek and camera permits required.
