The river zoning area is as follow:

Locations Factor

Selections of the zoning locations are based on the following:

  • Referring to the locals, the selected area always landed a good catch.
  • This zone is major tourism area, visited by thousand of tourist every year.
  • The selected zone have been identified as a breeding spot for a few endangered fish species.

Most of the villagers are traditional river fisherman. By giving them alternative income such as homestay program will benefit them indirectly. This will educate them to treat Temoleh as tourist attractions; not for selling.

One of our ongoing awareness and conservations activities is "Fish Release Programme". We are targeting to release a minimum of 1 million fries and mature temoleh back to the river. The survival rate is very low and the growth also very slow. Hopefully by this actions, it will increase the populations of this extinction fish and supply enough stock in future. Maybe one day Sungai Tembeling is the World's No 1 in Temoleh Fish Sportfishing! Who knows?
