Unique Language Spoken By The Locals
Jerantut is the biggest district in Pahang state, therefore a variety of local dialect can be found surround the area. Start from Kampung Baru village up to Ulu Cheka village, the dialect pronounce is similar as Kula Lipis area; slow and continuously. But from Kuala Tembeling area up to Kampung Bantal area ( include Kuala Tahan & Taman Negara) the dialect spoken is much different and it pronounce very fast and loud. It's quite hard to understand although among the locals of Pahang.

Unique And Popular Local Cuisine
Tempoyak is one of the most famous food with full variety of cooking style. Among the local dish that using Tempoyak as the main ingredient is Guali Masam Tempoyak and most suitable cooked with fresh river fish. Besides fresh river fish, it's also can be replaced with chicken or beef. Sambal Tempoyak also another popular dish derived from this durian paste.
Asam Rong is also another popular and unique dish in this area. This asam rong is specially made from buah perah, a type of jungle fruits or also can be made from bji getah ( rubber nut). Normally it will kept and marinated for a period of time to get the best taste. Best cook with loacal jungle vegetables such as ferns, water spinnach or river fish.
