| Lubuk Simpon is the nearest swimming spot in Kuala
Tahan. Located only 600 metres from HQ, takes about only 20-30 minutes by
walk or less than 10 minutes by boat.
Due to its location as the entrance to Sungai Tahan, the water is cooling, fresh and tanning color. The scenery here is totally different from the main river- Sungai Tembeling. Its quiet, full of green scenery, beautiful river stone, birds and gibbon orchestra and even you can see the small fish swimming surround you. You can identify the swimming spot based on your swimming skill or ages. For expert swimmers, you can dip in to the deeper part with dark color water. Warning! Although the the the surfaces water is calm but the under water current is strong. Make sure you really how to swim and safe yourself if swept by the water or your leg got cramp! For the non-swimmers or children, they can play or dip in the cooling shallow water along the river bank. The river cruise boat to Lata Berkoh will pass this area so when you heard the boat engine, stop swimming and keep your self near the river bank to avoid any incidents. If lucky, you can see the small clawed otter looking for the fish around here. This place also a good spot for birdwatching during early morning or late evening.

| Lubuk Lesong is another good swimming spot in Tahan
River. Located about 2 hours trekking through undulating low land forest. The broad pebbly beach and adjacent vegetation is photogenic and good for relaxing. The light conditions along the river for photography are poor so keen photographers are advised to use fast film or tripod. |
